This past Friday night, married and engaged couples around PCC were encouraged to make it a date! Couples were able to drop their kids off in our Kid Care, and relax together for a couple hours. A picnic style catered meal, lawn games and the ability to find a deeper connection within Pathway were all highlights of the evening.
This same environment, last year, led us into deeper community in Christ, as we started a small group with the people we met at our table. We've been meeting together, ever since!
Date nights are generally offered twice a year with varying themes and a year long theme to challenge couples in their marriages. This year, couples have been challenged to take the first step in praying together, whether that means starting with verses to pray over your spouse, or simply thanking God for them each day.
Preparations for next years date nights are already underway and it is our hope that we can provide couples with these fun nights, to simply invest in each other and their marriages. To remember that even after marriage begins, date nights are still important!
Married and engaged couples of all ages are invited to attend these date night events.
Beyond allows us to continue to build our Marriage Ministry, equip couples with the tools needed to invest in healthy marriages, and reach couples in need of hope and healing through a full life found only in Christ.
The Marriage and Parenting Ministry has a few other exciting events yet to come this year, including a father/daughter event, a parenting seminar for parents of young children, a family dedication, and a two day marriage conference. For more details on these events and more you can contact the marriage ministry though Daphne Austin at firstname.lastname@example.org.
